Any of various forms of dance, often improvisational, performed to such music 2. A hollow in the earth The Disco Cave was a performance that took place over 3 hours at Kraak in Manchester in November 2011. This piece was devised and performed by the Volkov Commanders (plus a few friends). NIne elaborate costumes were created with movement, restriction, sound, light and visual appearance in mind. We constructed a shiny monument to the moon and boogied to cosmic sounds and beats for three hours. The audience were suitably confused yet comfortable. We wanted to create confusion and awkwardness for the audience who'd happened to intrude on our future disco party. Throughout the performance we danced as though at a private party fully unaware of our keen audience watching in the background, although at odd intervals each dancer would become painfully aware of London-based artist, Yu-Chen Wang presents a site-specific installation in respond to the Victoria Baths’ history and its current architectural space. The project is based on the fictional story of Yu-Chen’s new experiment of creating “A Last Drop” in order to re-fill the pool at Victoria Baths and ensure that the water will never dry up again. The artist uses a story written by Bob Dickinson to contextualise the multi-layered visual narratives presented in a series of drawings, sculptures and a newly produced film work. This is in conjunction with her current residency at Chinese Arts Centre, as well as a 20-minute performance in collaboration with a Manchester-based theatre actress, filmmakers and artists which In it I imagine I am a worker employed to set the seating for performances and discussions that aren't going to happen and waiting rooms where no one will see you. The action of carrying and positioning the chairs, waiting for people to arrive although no one was invited then packing it all away again is an ultimately futile action that causes frustration yet a presentation of a shop in an imagined post capitalist future. The recession has forced many buisiness' to close and thus leaving many once full shop fittings empty. Panoply!! Is an artistic performative event,inspired by the eccentricities and ambition of contemporary fashion catwalk designs and displays. For a one off evening event, Panoply!! Brings artists, designers and performers together to take on the job of creatively displaying a fullc atalogue of design with concept in front of a live audience. I had two pieces in the show, firstly the entrance piece which was made from a gazebo frame and furnishing trimmings, and also a piece that resembled a changing room with mirrors at the front. This piece was intended for the audience to confront their ideas about fashion starting with themselves. Behind the mirror was a performer singing in french throughout the duration of the show, completely hidden apart from her hands which were clutching the mirror.
